Come and Learn The Ancient Art of Storytelling

A FREE event (including a pizza lunch) for 8-25 year olds

Saturday 25 October 10.30 am - 5pm;  St John’s Church Hall 411 Malden Road, Worcester Park KT4 7NY

 

To celebrate Young Storytellers Week, Surrey Storytellers is sponsoring a day’s introduction to storytelling for young people between the ages of 8-25. The day will be made up of a series of fun and engaging split age-group workshops with leading storytellers, followed by a chance (for those who wish) to share their story with friends and family from 4pm.

 

Your workshop leaders are: 

 

Hannah Brailsford - for over 25 years, Hannah has been providing entertainment & storytelling for schools, events and special occasions. She is passionate about inspiring imagination and creativity in young people and the young at heart. Her goal is to bring stories to life and inspire others to find their unique creative voice through engaging and interactive storytelling.

 

 

Alastair K Daniel - Alastair is a Surrey-based international performance storyteller and artist-educator with a storytelling style that is almost conversational, drawing his audience into his tales. Alastair teaches storytelling in a range of contexts from infant schools to universities and corporate settings.

 

 

Belinda McKenna - Belinda is an award-winning storyteller who lives in Surrey. Her performances are described as energetic, quirky, passionate, intelligent, and thought-provoking.  Belinda delivers storytelling workshops and coaching sessions for Surrey Storytellers. 

 

The day’s timetable is:


10.00am - Arrivals and refreshments

10.30am - First workshop

11.30am - Second Workshop 

12.30pm - Pizza lunch

1.15pm - Third workshop 

2.15pm - Rehearsal and story development time 

3.00pm - Gathering together and  reflecting on the day

4.00pm - we share our stories with family and friends 

5.00pm  - Goodbyes
